We are opening a **one-week beta** for optional Grok (xAI) inside DPO Ready Center.

You already keep your own records. Sometimes you want a **draft from the data you already typed** — a firearm description, ammo notes, or a precious-metal value note. That stays **off until you ask**, uses **your key**, and runs on **your connection**. Data Protection Operations does **not** see the prompt, the key, or the reply.

### What Grok can draft (only if you opt in)

**Firearm description**

On Firearm Inventory, with Manufacturer and Model filled, you can ask Grok for a **draft description**, typical manufacture window, and a **possible value range**. It lands in the Description field for you to **edit**. It is a starting paragraph, not an appraisal and not a guarantee. Keep **serial number off** the request unless you have a reason to send it.

**Ammo fill**

On Ammo Inventory, Grok can **fill draft fields** from caliber / manufacturer / bullet type (purpose notes, typical use, compatibility reminders — whatever that action writes into the form). Same rules: you click it, you confirm, you review before Save. Wrong caliber or a wild guess is **your** check, not the model’s.

**Precious metal reports (Other Essentials)**

- **Value report** — no network. You enter Gold / Silver (optional Sterling) per troy ounce. Types must be Gold, Silver, Sterling Silver US, or Sterling Silver Russian, with weight in the Name (10 g, 1 oz, 14k 5 g). Math stays on the PC.
- **Grok metal report** — same local totals, then optional Grok on typical **selling** (not spot) and places to sell. City is asked only here. Shop names are **unverified** — call first. Grok sees **group totals**, not every item.

No key, no call. Cancel on the confirm dialog and **nothing leaves the PC**.

### Privacy

Augmented answers use **your data on your device**. When you opt in, a **small payload** goes **HTTPS from your machine to xAI** with **your** API key.

- We do **not** proxy the request.
- We do **not** log prompts or answers.
- We do **not** get your inventory, your name, or your address.
- Metals: **aggregates** (type, fine oz, your price), not the full list.
- Firearms: maker and model; serial is **your** choice and should stay off by default.
- Ammo: the fields on that record you chose to fill — not the rest of the armory.

If you never add a key, these buttons do nothing. The rest of Ready Center is unchanged.

Self-custody still means local data, offline-first, paper backup if you want it. Grok is a lamp. It is not the filing cabinet.

### Already shipping — Document Center (1.5)

Sensitive files can sit encrypted in the database; manuals can stay on disk. Relate them to a firearm, food, essentials, or none. Community and Standard. This beta is the optional Grok layer on top.

### How to join (one week)

Email [**support@dataprotectionops.com**](mailto:support@dataprotectionops.com) and ask for the **Grok beta**. We will send the link.

Beta runs **one week** from this post. Tell us what felt useful, what felt too chatty on the wire, and any field you never want sent.

This is a tracking tool, not a dealer, not an appraiser, not a lawyer. You own the record. You own the key. You own what leaves the machine.

Stay ready.
